The rain came down and the wind blasted our trip out to the islands today to catch the end of the swell, but our spirits weren't dampened at all. We loaded the FijiSurf vans with the Vanuatu gang and cruised south to Natadola beach for a fun surf. Plenty of barrels were had, but as seen below, making the drop proved almost as difficult as not getting catapulted into the air by the backwash.
Towards the end of the day, we built a fire and cooked a freshly speared trevally to feed the hungry surfers. The fish along with fresh coconut and mango provided a feast for everyone so that by the time we made it to the grocery, everyone just ate ice cream bars for dessert. Just a day in the life for the Fiji Surf crew. A BIG thanks to Tim Nelson for the photos!
