The sun came out after a week of heavy rains and made for a great time surfing one of the greatest waves on the planet.
I remember coming out here and surfing Cloudbreak for my first time. After an epic session, Stu turned to me and said, "Yeah man, and today was a 1/10 day!" Over the last several months, I've surfed the spots around Tavarua and Namotu countless times and am still so blown away by the perfection of Fijian waves. Even when these breaks are "off", they're still world class waves and break 99% of the year. Cloudbreak is the Professor. It will teach you something about yourself. Get out here.

Spirits were high as the Fiji Surf Co "Liberator" sped out to Cloudbreak this morning under overcast skies. Checking a few spots, we opted to go to Cloudbreak. Everyone got in to the water and surfed overhead glassy barrels in the pristine Fijian water. One of the most perfect waves in the world, Cloudbreak delivers again.
After a challenging but fun session and with the wind coming up a bit, we hopped into the Liberator and headed over to Wilkes to find the wind dying and the overhead right breaking in glassy conditions. As usual, at the end of the day, Fiji Surf Co brought everyone in with huge smiles on their faces. Click HERE to see the rest of the 200+ photos from today. Fiji Surf Co headed out to Cloudbreak today for the first day of the swell...I could explain more, but I'll let the photos do the talking...and it got better than this, forcing the photographer into the water, hence ending documentation for the day. Barrels, barrels, CLOUDBREAK BARRELS!

The Fiji Surf boat pulled up to glassy Wilkes yesterday morning with a crew of amped surfers. We surfed super fun waves for a while then opted to move to Cloudbreak, which was breaking even better! The waves kept coming in and the wind stayed down pretty much all morning and left everyone stoked. Sorry Nic, this was way too funny of a photo. Had to include it in the blog.

Riding out in calm conditions, the sky soon darkened after hanging around a pod of dolphins and down poured on the Fiji Surf crew. Not to be bothered, everyone yanked off their dry clothes and stuffed them into bags, laughing and shrugging as if to say, "well, what can you do?" As quickly as they came, the gray clouds dispersed and the sun came out. The wind died and made for a fun session at Wilkes. After a surf, we jumped in the water and got to see some sharks as John hoisted a fresh catch of fish to the surface. With a surf under our belts, fish on the boat, dolphins played with and Ratik's homemade roti parcels in our bellies, we rode home stoked.

After a long boat ride out, we pulled up to a secret spot with no one out but a bunch of birds and the Fiji Surf Co crew. Plenty of current and some fun waves ridden. The ride home was smooth as glass and the perfect end to a beautiful Fijian day.
